For decades, wet labs with hands-on experiments on real tissues and materials have been the foundation of surgical innovation. Now, digital technologies are opening new paths with dry labs, which use computer models and simulations instead of physical experiments. Can AI-supported processes, robotics, or immersive technologies like augmented reality meaningfully complement, or even replace, traditional research methods? These are the questions that will guide the program in Bonn.
We are looking forward to keynote lectures, practical workshops, from virtual surgery with haptic feedback to 3D anatomical modeling, as well as interdisciplinary panel discussions.
For Medicalholodeck, this gathering is a chance to learn from peers, share perspectives across disciplines, and explore how we can shape the next chapter of surgical research together. We are looking forward to inspiring conversations and new collaborations in Bonn this September 2025 - let’s meet!
